Custom AI Agents

A general chatbot can only answer questions. A custom agent reads your enterprise knowledge, calls your business tools and follows your workflows, with human sign-off at key steps.

Overview

From chat assistant to agent that gets work done

An agent that gets work done has five layers. Miss one and it stays a demo.

LLM coreGeneral or fine-tuned model inference that understands intent and generates responses
Enterprise knowledgePolicies, FAQs and document libraries, with answers traceable to sources
ToolsetAPIs, search and write actions, executed within granted permissions
WorkflowsOrchestration, approvals and rollback; complex tasks are broken into steps
Governance and securityPermissions, auditing and data masking, protected by the AI Firewall
Capabilities

Combine capabilities to fit your business

Start with a single-agent pilot, then expand to multi-agent collaboration and deep integration with business systems.

Roles and personas

Define a dedicated agent for each role, such as customer service, sales, HR, legal or IT ops: tone, scope of duties, refusal policy and rules for escalating to a human.

  • Multiple roles run in parallel without crossing over
  • Compliant scripts and sensitive-topic blocking
  • Configurable human takeover and ticket escalation

Knowledge base and RAG

Connect policies, product manuals, past tickets and business data. Answers cite their sources, reducing the risk of hallucination.

  • Parsing and vectorization of many document formats
  • Knowledge partitions with access isolation
  • Cited passages link back to the original text

Tool and system integration

Wrap actions such as lookups, creating tickets, updating statuses and sending notifications as tools, so the agent completes the work within its permissions instead of only making suggestions.

  • REST / OpenAPI tool integration
  • Confirmation and approval for write actions
  • Complete, auditable operation logs

Workflows and multi-agent

Break complex tasks into a “plan — execute — check” chain, or have several specialist agents collaborate on research, writing and review.

  • Visual workflow orchestration
  • Human approval and exception rollback
  • Task status tracking and result archiving
Scenarios

Start with high-volume agents you can measure

Choose roles with high inquiry volume, clear processes and checkable results. Expand once the pilot proves its value.

01

Customer service / pre-sales assistant

Handles FAQs, shipment tracking and first-pass ticket review; complex issues escalate to a human automatically. Can be built directly on AI Kebao.

02

Internal knowledge and policy assistant

Answers questions on policies and expense rules, with knowledge isolated by department and answers traceable to the source.

03

Government service pre-check agent

Checks application documents and flags missing items, cutting back-and-forth before applicants reach the service counter.

04

Medical triage agent

Collects chief complaints in advance, suggests a department and drafts a pre-consultation summary. For triage reference only.

05

R&D and IT ops assistant

Connects to alerts and logs to draft troubleshooting checklists and change notes; key actions require human sign-off.

06

Workflows and multi-agent

Complex tasks run as a plan—execute—check chain, with controllable, auditable human approval steps.

Process

Four steps from pilot to scale

  1. 01

    Scenario and goals

Define the role, success metrics, available knowledge and systems to connect, and set permission boundaries.

  2. 02

    Prototype

Configure the persona, knowledge base and core tools, and deliver a working demo prototype in 2–4 weeks.

  3. 03

    Integration and evaluation

Regression tests on real tickets, hallucination and permission-overreach tests, plus approval and audit features.

  4. 04

    Launch and iterate

Staged rollout and hard-case feedback to keep improving prompts, tools and fine-tuned models.

FAQ

FAQ

How is an agent different from a regular chatbot?

A chatbot can only answer questions. An agent reads your enterprise knowledge, calls your business system APIs, and follows your workflows to create tickets, update statuses and send notifications, handing key steps to a person for sign-off.

Could the agent act on business systems without permission?

No. Each tool has a clearly defined scope. Write actions require confirmation or approval by default, and every action is logged, so you can audit or roll back at any time.

Do we need to fine-tune a model first?

In most cases, no. Build a prototype with a general model plus a knowledge base and tools, and confirm the workflow works. Fine-tune on your business data only when scripts and wording must be very precise.

Can it be deployed privately?

Yes. The model, knowledge base and agent can all be deployed on an on-premises AI Compute Appliance or on GPU servers in a HyperSource facility, so data stays in your environment.
